Welcome to the new Raffel Comfort Sciences, LLC! Formerly Raffel Product Development Co., Inc., we are now under new ownership, with John R. Howman residing as our new president. The change of ownership is official as of Sept. 9, 2004.

Here is the history of how our company began.
Raffel Product Development Company, founded by Mark Raffel, was incorporated in 1984 when he retired as President of the Mart Furniture Stores in Brookfield and Greenfield, Wisconsin. In the mid-sixties, Mr. Raffel, an electrical engineer, began to develop a product that could be used in motion furniture. Over time he designed and obtained many patents on a variety of massage systems that can be installed in reclining chairs, sofas, patient lift chairs and other types of motion furniture.

Since then, Raffel Comfort has become the leading supplier of stress-reduction massage systems in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Korea, Australia, Central and South America. Tranqil-Ease® systems are sold to manufacturers such as Berkline, Catnapper, Franklin, Stratolounger, and Benchcraft.

In addition to the Tranqil-Ease® furniture heat and massage systems, which are uniquely designed for chairs, Raffel has developed a portable line of Tranqil-Ease® Mattress Massage products that convert any mattress into a soothing massage bed. These products work wonders with any type or size of mattress—inner spring, foam, air, and/or twin, queen and king. A variety of Tranqil-Ease® portable units have proven to be a restful, relaxing, and sleep enhancing experience.

Raffel Comfort’s corporate office and warehouse is located in Saukville, Wisconsin, where product design, engineering, testing and light assembly work take place. However, the majority of products are manufactured off site in close association with highly technical firms.
