American is a leading retailer of consumer electronics, appliances and furniture. Founded in 1954, American has built a market leading reputation for selection, price, and outstanding customer service.

Corporate headquarters is based in Madison, Wisconsin with ten current stores. Six stores are located in Wisconsin: Madison East; Madison West; Brown Deer; Waukesha; Oak Creek; and Appleton. One store is located in Marquette, Michigan and one in Rockford, Illinois. We presently have two stores in Iowa: Davenport and DesMoines. Supporting the stores are 2 state-of-the-art Distribution Centers in Waukesha, Wisconsin and a Service Center in Madison.

Each American store averages 125 employees. In addition to the retail sales departments, each store includes warehouse, service, delivery prepping and a mobile installation department.

American has won numerous awards over the years as an outstanding retailer of furniture, electronics and appliances.
