Position Overview:
The primary role of the Manufacturing Systems Engineer is to implement IT solutions and process automation in the Production department. Responsibilities include development, implementation, maintenance, and technical support of manufacturing applications.

Essential Job Functions:
Implements IT solutions to replace paper records and manual entries with electronic systems in the Production department.
Maintains production historical data logging system.
Develops in-house manufacturing applications.
Evaluates commercial software and third-party options for manufacturing execution systems (MES).
Implements and validates manufacturing applications in compliance with pharmaceutical regulations.
Collaborates with Engineering department to implement process control systems including PanelView alarms and automated processes.
Collaborates with Supply Chain department to integrate manufacturing systems with ERP.
Provides technical support including debugging and maintenance of manufacturing systems.
Trains end users.
Writes work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for manufacturing systems.
Follows all cGMPs, safety procedures, and company policies.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. (Experience may be substituted for degree.)
Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in application development or similar role.
SQL Development using TSQL and other scripting tools.
Familiarity with .Net Framework, VBA, SSRS, and IIS.
Familiarity with programming languages (e.g. C#, C+, Perl) desirable.
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
Strong analytical skills. High attention to detail and problem solving skills required.
Comprehensive written and verbal communication skills.
Good time management skills to complete assignments in a timely manner without supervision.
Strong interpersonal skills, team building skills, and internal customer service.
Ideal candidates will also have:
Familiarity with manufacturing execution systems (MES) and electronic batch records (eBR) in a pharmaceutical or chemical processing environment.
Experience with Epicor ERP software.
Programming experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs or similar process control systems.
Knowledge of quality systems and software validation requirements in the pharmaceutical industry.
