The EHS Coordinator leads company-wide environmental, health and safety programs to mitigate risk, reduce incident rates, and ensure regulatory compliance.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Leads the CPI Safety Committee. Facilitates meetings and oversees committee activities including incident investigations, accident and near-hit reporting, internal safety audits and hazard assessments, department safety talks, training events, incentive programs, and other company-wide initiatives to increase safety awareness and reduce the risk of occupational injuries.
Develops and maintains project PPE requirements based on material evaluation and SDS information.
Performs respirator fit tests and ensures that department representatives complete all required fit tests in their areas.
Collaborates with department representatives to complete annual LOTO certification of authorized employees and annual review of LOTO procedures.
Reviews and updates CPI safety policies including hazard communication, LOTO, confined space, contractor safety, and emergency response.
Maintains online safety training modules for new employee orientation and refresher training.
Collaborates with HR and the workers compensation insurance carrier as necessary to manage claims and to implement loss control strategies.
Engages employees at all levels of the organization in safety initiatives by providing coaching, training, teamwork, and floor-level communication.
Develops and maintains reporting tools (metrics) to monitor progress of CPI safety initiatives.
Serves as the subject-matter expert and primary CPI contact for all EHS audits. Leads interdepartmental initiatives to ensure timely and effective audit response.
Ensures compliance with environmental regulations. Assists Engineering and QC with permit and reporting requirements.
Follows all cGMPs and CPI policies, practices, and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Engineering, or related degree program.
Minimum of 2 years related work experience, preferably in a pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing environment.
Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations and common EHS programs such as emergency preparedness, PSM, LOTO, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, confined space, contractor safety, accident investigation, workers’ compensation, and waste management .
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience leading large group presentations.
Good interpersonal skills; professionalism in working relationships with employees, auditors, and insurance representatives.
Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams. Must be able to influence, coach, and train a wide range of plant personnel.
Able to prioritize multiple work assignments and drive tasks to completion with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
PC skills including Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Completion of OSHA 30-Hour training is preferred.
Experience in a cGMP manufacturing facility is preferred.
