Position Summary: The Department Manager oversees the day to day operations of the department and is responsible for review of estimates and contracts, overall profitability of the department, research and development of best construction practices, concepts, and methods, etc. The Department Manager also researches market needs to develop and maintain customer relations helping with the overall corporate business development objective. The position will ensure all projects that qualify follow "The Monona Way" and will monitor processes and procedures to Monona's expectations to ensure accuracy, quality, and profitablility of all projects and employee and customer satisfaction. This position is accountable for the overall delivery of projects/services within the department's scope.
- Develops and manages departmental goals and strategy.
- Develops and manages the overall operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities and activities of the department.
- Develops and utilizes relationships within the industry to procure and manage deliverables.
- Plans and allocates resources to effectively staff and accomplish work to meet departmental
productivity and quality goals aligned with Federal, State, and Local codes, as well as Monona and industry standard, as applicable.
- Assesses business opportunities for strategic alignment and evaluates and manages potential risk.
- Reviews bids, contracts, and amendments to determine risk on potential projects.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience in engineering or construction management. 7+ years of experience to include business, construction management and management/supervision of staff.
