POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Benefits Specialist is responsible for the oversight and administration of a set of benefit programs in addition to onboarding all new employees in regard to benefits. This entails determining benefit eligibility, conducting benefit orientation sessions, and providing assistance with benefit related questions. The HR Benefit Specialist is proactive and responsible for the presentation and continuous improvement of benefit communications including maintaining company intranet content, creating and distributing open enrollment materials, and updates to policy related to benefits. The HR Benefit Specialist is responsible for ensuring benefit administration compliance with state and federal laws and benefit plan rules and regulations. Under general supervision, the HR Benefits Specialist exercises judgment in the performance of responsibilities and is expected to serve as a resource and point of contact for all employees.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Administers and audits benefits, enrollments, terminations, and change requests for current and terminating employees for all health, dental, retirement, and ancillary benefits.
Maintains personnel files and employee information in compliance with applicable legal requirements. Processes personnel change forms as needed.
Processes and tracks FMLA, STD, LTD, and WC absences.
Completes annual benefit census reports and assists with the annual 401k Audit.
Provides support to CPI management and supervisors and assists employees with HR related inquiries.
Maintains HR benefits metrics.
Manages the annual performance evaluation process.
Serves as backup for recruitment processes as needed.
Serves as a backup for payroll processing.
Follows all CPI cGMP practices, policies, and procedures.
Follows all CPI safety practices, policies, and procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
3+ years of experience in benefits administration required.
Considerable knowledge of principles, practices, and standards of human resources management including state and federal labor laws and regulations.
Well-developed verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e. MS Word and MS Excel with familiarity with MS PowerPoint) and Internet Explorer required.
Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and external parties.
