Job Description
Monona Plumbing and Fire Protection is looking for entry level designers to join their Fire Protection Team!
Designer I: The FP Designer I assists with drafting and administrative functions related to the design, submittal, survey, and fabrication of Fire Protection projects. This is a trainee position, under the mentorship of senior design staff.
FP Designer I:
Years of Experience: 0-2 years Drafting, Construction, or Fire Protection Experience

Designer I: The FP Designer I assists with drafting and administrative functions related to the design, submittal, survey, and fabrication of Fire Protection projects. This is a trainee position, under the mentorship of senior design staff.
FP Designer I:
- Conducts NFPA code review and research. Reviews project specifications.
- Creates sprinkler system layouts for current jobs and bids. Assists Designer III’s with layouts for larger projects, as needed.
- Performs Hydraulic Calculations to ensure system meets NFPA design requirements
- Creates material submittal packets and organizes submittals to State and Municipality agencies.
- Assists with site surveys to minimize field conflicts.
- Creates shop drawings and stocklists for purchasing and fabrication.
- Completes As-Built drawings for finished installations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
