Job Description
Job Description Summary: This growth-driven individual will help obtain, organize, plan, schedule and control all phases of commercial new construction and renovation projects, including large mechanical systems while supporting our corporate vision and strategy. The Project Manager will ensure the project is completed safely, on time and on budget. This position reports directly to the Plumbing Manager and supports the Estimators and Field Personnel.
 
 Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Oversees assigned projects from award to buy-out including planning and scheduling coordination; estimating, budgeting, and job cost reporting.
  • Supervise and manage the RFI process; prepare and submit all change orders for each project.
  • Reviews all project paperwork promptly and effectively communicates changes to field personnel.
  • Reviews technical specifications of equipment and materials submittal data sheets to ensure that equipment and materials purchased match the project specification requirements.
  • Communicate with client, general contractor and other contractors working at the site including coordination of installation between trades. Monitor and report on sub-contractor progress as needed.
  • Growth oriented with the ability to succinctly coordinate and supervise group work effort as well as superior technical, analytical, organizational and communications skills.
  • Direct and support field team through effective communication skills to manage project deliverables and resolve issues and conflict among project team.
  • Monitor labor reporting, job cost reviews, time sheets and three week look ahead schedule
  • Monitor on a weekly basis the cost spent versus the budget to ensure profitability is maintained as planned; prepare schedule of values and assist with monthly billings/invoicing.
  • Ascertain any risks related to the estimate in order to guarantee that provisions are made for those risks.
  • Attend and actively participate in job site meetings; communicate outcomes to team members as needed.
 Job Knowledge and Skills:
 
  • Construction or Engineering 2 or 4 year degree and/or 5 years plumbing field experience or equivalent combination of schooling and experience.
  • Ability to read, understand and estimate plumbing system drawings and technical specifications.
  • Ability to do detailed material takeoffs.
  • Proficient computer skills in MS program, Estimating, Construction Management and Accounting Software.
  • Proven track record of managing plumbing projects of value ranging from $1M to $15M.
  • Field training or excellent knowledge of site utilities, plumbing and process piping systems.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete necessary tasks in a fast-paced environment.
