Job Description
Position Overview:
The primary purpose of a QC Technician is to provide support to the Production and Formulations Departments. This support is provided by analyzing chemical samples for various compounds and components according to internal specifications, client procedures, and miscellaneous research procedures.
In addition, the QC Technician assists in maintaining the operation and calibration status of analytical equipment as well as maintain overall compliance with the applicable regulations. The QC Technician is expected to possess some understanding of laboratory procedures and reliably conduct analyses with training and supervision.
HOURS/LOCATION: The standard workday is typically 8 hours and 15 minutes with varied starting and ending times. There is an occasional need for extended hours which may include weekends. Initial training will take place in Verona, WI before transferring to the Sauk City, WI location where they will be permanently be working.


Essential Job Functions:
  • Supports Finished Product/Raw Materials product testing by performing existing internal methods or client supplied methods.
  • Calibrates and maintains QC analytical equipment.
  • Maintains a compliant laboratory notebook and forms.
  • Reviews laboratory notebooks and forms of other lab personnel.
  • Reviews/edits protocols, methods, master specifications, and SOP's as needed.
  • Creates/revises Certificates of Analysis.
  • Lifts/Carries objects weighing up to 55 lbs.
  • Follows all CPI, applicable guidance’s, practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Follows all CPI safety practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/Skills/Knowledge Required:
 
  • High School Diploma with applicable work experience required. Associate's Degree or Technical Degree in chemistry or related field preferred.
  • Experience with the use of basic laboratory equipment desirable.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, co-workers, and/or clients.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 15 lbs. on a daily basis and up to 55 lbs. occasionally.
