Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION

 
The HR Generalist position is responsible for administering and implementing Human Resource Programs including: recruiting, compensation, benefits (including health, dental, ancillary insurance plans, CPI's Profit Sharing and 401K Plan, FMLA, and workers compensation), employee relations, safety and employment policies and procedures.  The HR Generalist is expected to have primary or secondary responsibility as assigned for all essential job functions.  In this role, the HR Generalist is expected to stay abreast of laws and regulations as they pertain to the human resource functions.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:        
                                                          


  • Coordinates the hiring process with department managers to facilitate finding the most qualified candidates, works with staffing agencies, conducts initial screenings of candidates, performs reference checks, coordinates/participates in the interview process, and manages the applicant tracking database.
  • Ensures requisitions, job descriptions, and job postings are processed timely and accurately.
  • Facilitates the onboarding of new employees, including offer letters, background checks, drug screens, appropriate physicals, and new employee orientation.
  • Maintains the company organizational chart.
  • Administers and audits benefits, enrollments, terminations, and change requests for current and terminating employees for all health, dental, retirement, and ancillary benefits.
  • Maintains personnel files and employee information in compliance with applicable legal requirements.  Processes personnel change forms as needed.
  • Processes and tracks FMLA, STD, LTD, and WC absences.
  • Completes annual benefit census reports and assists with the annual 401k Audit.
  • Provides support to CPI management and supervisors and assists employees with HR related inquiries.
  • Assists with disciplinary actions and employee communications, conducts exit interviews and sends termination notifications.
  • Maintains HR metrics.
  • Assists with the annual performance evaluation process.
  • Serves as a backup for payroll processing.
  • Follows all CPI cGMP practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Follows all CPI safety practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: 
 
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources management or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a human resources role preferred.
  • Considerable knowledge of principles, practices, and standards of human resources management including state and federal labor laws and regulations.
  • Well-developed verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent organization skills and high attention to detail.
  • Professionalism and confidentiality required.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and external parties.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (i.e. MS Word and MS Excel with familiarity with MS PowerPoint) and Internet Explorer required.
