This individual will help organize, plan, schedule and control all phases of the commercial construction process in support of our corporate vision and strategy. The Project Manager will ensure the project is completed safely, on time and on budget. A proven track record running plumbing projects or direct field experience is essential.
Responsibilities
Candidate will be responsible for the profitable execution of Mechanical and/or Plumbing Projects.
Acts as the primary leader for teams on assigned projects. Develops project schedules and executes according to plan.
Work with Owner, Prime Contractor, Subcontractors, Vendors, Suppliers and Fabrication Shop to provide input on strategy, vendor selection, scope enhancements, value engineering, risk assessment, etc.
Ensures that assigned projects are done accurately, on-time, billed, within budget and within scope of the contract. Maintains positive cash flow and manages change orders.
Adheres to all safety standards and in compliance with state, local and federal legal requirements.
Responsible for following consistent and repeatable project management procedures and processes.
Coordinate with Department Manager and Field Operations Manager for the allocation of resources needed to meet project objectives.
Analyzes financial reporting systems and project schedules to proactively address potential problems. Effectively communicates project progress, issues and financial status to management as required.
Experience and Skills
5 + years of direct project management experience in the Mechanical and/or Plumbing Construction Industry (Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management preferred).
Able to execute large contract projects of high complexity.
Experience in dealing with a large and diverse number of simultaneous challenges, requiring knowledge of many different disciplines.
Demonstrates verbal and written communication skills and have the ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience.
Proficient in Project Management software, MS Office, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Access and financial accounting systems (Timberline experience preferred).
