Job Description

Job Summary
The purpose of this role is to lead growth and development of the plumbing, fire protection and mechanical service businesses.  Responsible for the development and implementation of the service business strategies and tactics that drive the strategic goals of the Company.


This position is responsible for delivering profitable service sales volume through existing/new customers to meet the annual plan targets set by the President.  Develop and implement activities and strategies to continually increase top line revenue, maximize margins and increase market share for all areas of plumbing, fire protection and mechanical services.  As part of the Executive Leadership Team, this role has a critical voice in Company decisions and is responsible of acting in a manner that is consistent with the best interests of the President and the overall business.  Also responsible for promoting/driving accountability around Monona’s people practices, policies, procedures and execution of the service business by directing and performing a variety of complex technical, professional and management activities.


  • Develop and implement strategic plans accountable for business growth and development for all service areas of the business including Plumbing, Fire Protection and Mechanical.
  • Apply understanding and knowledge of the service business environment and local markets including competition, purchasing and business trends.
  • Increase market penetration in local service business by securing new customers and expanding the scope of the existing customer base business.
  • Target and develop perspective clients to meet service sales goals using a focused sales approach.
  • Develop, implement and maintain standards for all service activities, consistent with Company standards.
  • Lead the field team in the delivery of quality service and customer satisfaction while ensuring safety compliance.
  • Maintain proper staffing levels and skill mix to deliver the services provided.
  • Provide training and support of technical solutions to complex problems.
  • Manage team budgets and overhead accounts as assigned.
  • Articulate and drive Company goals and culture throughout the organization.
  • Seek out new accounts and customers and develop new business including responsibility for cold-calling as necessary.
  • In conjunction with the President and the Leadership Team, establish critical client satisfaction measures, monitor results and drive needed corrective action.
Essential Skills and Experience
 
  • Proven track record for continuous and innovative service growth in the MEP market.
  • Skilled in managing, coaching and mentoring both office and field staff.
  • Possesses sound leadership qualities and places an emphasis on team development.
  • Knowledge of the building trades industry and the opportunities available to cross-integrate various business units.
  • Maintains a balanced approach to sales and operational requirements.
  • Committed to training and development of the service teams.
  • Results driven, leads by example and is dedicated to developing critical relationships.
  • Effective communicator; provides regular and constructive feedback to teams.
