Job Description
Assists Purchasing Department in day to day operations.  Interacts with suppliers to maintain pricing and delivery schedules.  Interacts with internal personnel as a liaison between supply orders and project orders.
 
Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.
  • Maintain purchase order data and records.
  • Create, confirm, commit and post material purchase orders and invoices.
  • Log all project purchase orders in the project folder on the network.
  • Assemble field purchase order binder for all projects required.
  • Coordinate material requests from PM’s and foremen with shop personnel and vendors.
  • Assist other employees with project budget reconciliation.
  • Track material backorders and notify personnel involved of revised delivery date or vendor.
  • Issue return purchase orders for materials returned to vendors and update return log.
  • Post invoices in the purchasing software (Timberline).
  • Assist in annual inventory count and pricing.
  • Effectively communicate with suppliers and fellow employees both verbally and written in a professional manner.
Qualifications
 
  • To perform this job satisfactorily, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and in a timely manor
  • Basic knowledge of supply chain management in a manufacturing/construction environment
  • Good organizational skills
  • Close attention to detail is critical
  • Ability to define problems, collects data, establishes facts, draw valid conclusions and resolve discrepancies in a reasonable amount of time.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be very proficient quick and comfortable with personal computer navigation, operation and possess proficient data entry/typing abilities.
  • Microsoft Windows, Office, Outlook, Excel and Word experience
 Physical Demands
Able to work in a fast paced environment and willingness to work overtime.  Regularly required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms.  Able to lift 50 lbs.
