Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW

The Project Manager will work directly with clients and CPI project teams to plan and support various pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, food, and industrial projects and will coordinate development, scale up and validation processing as necessary.  This individual has significant skills in achieving project objectives by participating in the development of strategic plans, organization of and communication within project teams, preparing and completing action items, and utilizing standards regarding tracking and management of projects.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
 
  • Plans and coordinates development, scale up and validation activities in support of Formulation Scientists and associated project teams.
  • Works directly with the client to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Provides project management services to project teams including contact lists, scheduling of team meetings, issuing meeting agendas and minutes, project timelines, status summaries, and activity summaries.
  • Tracks and executes pre-project and post-project check lists to ensure critical project activities are completed, i.e. reservation of equipment, scheduling of personnel, and completion of proper documentation.
  • Collaborates with the Quality Control Department regarding testing and the coordination of timelines for analytical testing and method validations to support project needs.
  • Works with the Supply Chain team to ensure material requirements for projects are fulfilled.
  • Interacts with Production planning personnel for commercial-scale projects.  Provides appropriate information for Production Project Overviews on new projects.
  • Prepares monthly billing as it pertains to assigned projects.
  • Works closely with the Sales team to prepare written proposals.
  • Composes and distributes protocols, summary reports, and process development reports.
  • Assists with training of new personnel as necessary.
  • Follows all CPI safety practices, policies, and procedures.
 
 
EDUCATION/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED
 
 
  • Bachelor's degree in business, science, or related field preferred.
  • Strong team building skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Working knowledge of regulations governing the pharmaceutical industry preferred.
  • Comprehensive written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good time management skills to complete assignments/projects in a timely manner without supervision.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer required.  Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, co-workers, and/or clients.
