Education: Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent is generally required. Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree with a major specialization in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Human Services or related field is preferred. (Education may be substituted for work experience.)
Experience: This position serves all clients housed in this transitional housing program. The primary purpose of the position is to observe and monitor clients, intervening as necessary to ensure client safety, promote socially acceptable behaviors, and manage crisis situations. This position also assists mentally ill adults with daily personal care routines, behavior management, social and developmental activities; monitors medications, perform drug screens (urine analysis), orients new clients to facility and rules, records observations regarding clients behaviors, reactions to medication, changes in physical condition, or other conditions which warrant intervention, referring as appropriate to medical staff or mental health professional. May prevent or manage aggressive behavior among clients. The position requires food handler training and medication monitoring. Cooking is required. The position will function as a member of the treatment team but will be able to work alone with minimal to moderate ongoing supervision. This position requires the worker to work hours outside of Monday through Friday workweek. Experience in in-patient, direct client care work. Ability to provide client care; to administer first aid or cardiopulmonary resuscitation; and conduct Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behavior (PMAB). Ability to communicate effectively with individuals from all cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
License: Current state driver's license required.
Hours: First shift: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Saturday - Wednesday and requires some overtime.
Salary: $10.40 hourly.
