Server Systems Administrator
Position Summary

As a Server Systems Engineer within Epic's entity, you will keep our systems up and running in optimal condition so that healthcare organizations can provide amazing care with the help of our software. You'll have a hand in the development of tools to support operating systems, troubleshoot and debug code, and monitor overall system health for some of the largest healthcare organizations in the industry. You'll create disaster and contingency plans, develop and share expert knowledge in systems and database administration, coordinate with third party hardware vendors, and have the opportunity to work with systems on a scale that is pushing the edge of technology.

The work our Server Systems Engineers do touches every area of Epic -- you'll have opportunities to collaborate with developers, technical support, software testers, and implementation specialists across the company. You'll be able to focus and grow your skills in at least one of those areas -- we have scripters and documentation specialists, developers and technical support gurus. You'll build valuable industry-wide skills within the field of Information Technology doing high stakes, critical work that allows healthcare providers to better do what they do best: take great care of patients. Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Math, Physics, Engineering, MIS, or other hard science preferred
  • A history of academic and professional success
  • Knowledge of Linux or Windows system administration, virtualization, scripting, automation, or DevOps processes is a plus, but not necessary
  • Willingness to travel 1-2 weeks per year
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
  • Relocation to the Madison, WI area (reimbursed)
  • Available to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift
  • COVID-19 vaccination
As a member of the Hosting team at Epic you'll be responsible for the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Epic Hosting. Those responsibilities include:
