Architectural Millwork Sales Representative - Outside Sales

Description

Do you have experience selling architectural millwork to residential contractors in the Madison and surrounding areas?
If so, we would enjoy hearing from you, as we are seeking an Architectural Millwork Sales Representative to work from our Madison location. As an Architectural Millwork Sales Representative, you will develop new business relationships to close sales from our large portfolio of standard and unique products.

Job Responsibilities
As an Architectural Millwork Sales Representative with Brunsell Lumber & Millwork, you will represent the company by prospecting and networking for new customers in order to grow sales within your territory. You will collect data on customer needs and design specifications and act as liaison between inside technical/design staff, production staff and customer in developing sales proposals. You will also provide superior customer service and ensure that our customers are satisfied with their purchases.
Additional responsibilities include:
  • Developing an understanding of customer's needs and matching those needs with company products and service
  • Taking measurements and collecting specification information on the customer's site
  • Estimating the amount and cost of materials and reviewing for accuracy
  • Designing and conducting professional sales presentations to provide prospective customers with clarification as to how Brunsell Lumber & Millwork can meet their specific requirements
  • Troubleshooting issues in the field regarding various products and services
  • Serving as a liaison between the company and the customer for up-to-date status of pricing, service and latest product release launches
  • Utilizing time in the field pursuing leads, servicing accounts and gathering market intelligence on opportunities and competitors. Leveraging trade resources, contacts and influencers to help attract profitable business
  • Enhancing knowledge of product and industry knowledge by attending company-sponsored training programs. Attending trade shows and meetings of professional organizations to expand familiarity with the industry and new products
  • Continuously updating customers on company products, including modifications, changes and enhancements
  • Preparing recurring and special reports, forms or other documents for management, as required
  • Carrying out other duties as assigned
Requirements
As an Architectural Millwork Sales Representative with Brunsell Lumber & Millwork, you must be a natural people-person with a likeable personality and a high-performance focus. You must be a team player with a strong work ethic and sense of integrity. You must also have excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
Additional requirements include:
  • Experience selling Architectural Millwork such as casework (i,e. kitchen/general cabinetry, built-ins, etc...), interior doors, moulding, mantels, and stair systems. This requirement is an absolute must !
  • Professionalism, diplomacy and tact to portray Brunsell Lumber & Millwork in a positive manner
  • A great listener - especially relative to customer needs analysis
  • Effective selling and presentation skills
  • Ability to achieve sales goals and objectives as per a yearly sales budget
  • Ability to think on your feet and multi-task
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage time effectively and work unsupervised
  • Good interpersonal and influencing skills, including ability to interact effectively at various levels within customer organizations, including at senior management levels
  • Computer proficiency
