As a Process Piping Designer II in our Madison office, you will help us empower our clients to achieve energy-efficient manufacturing projects, implement novel technologies to better our health and our environment, and create a better future for all.

Responsibilities

Here's why we need you:

In this role, you will convert system design concepts into facility models in close partnership with our senior team members and subject matter experts. You will be developing complex Process and Industrial system equipment layouts, piping floor plans, details, and 3D models. You will have an opportunity to contribute to innovative and unique process solutions in the industrial markets including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, aerospace, food, petrochemical, and energy and utility.

    Being the creator of deliverable documents in AutoCAD, Revit, and/or Plant3D.
  • Being the leader of development of standards in AutoCAD, Revit, and/or Plant3D.
  • Converting system design concepts into specific layouts by interpreting information set forth in basis of design as well as information gathered from users, project partners, field surveys, and code research.
  • Applying your industry knowledge while working on impactful and complex projects.
  • Work alongside professionals known for advanced engineering solutions.

Qualifications

Expertise of our most successful Process Piping Designer II:

  • Expertise in computer operation for engineering design programs and in the current version of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, and/or REVIT. Navisworks experience preferred.
  • Experience in interpreting design criteria and converting it into specific layouts.
  • Technical or Associate Degree in chemical process, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, or architectural design from an accredited technical institution or college; or commensurate experience.
  • Fundamental knowledge of piping systems. Proven experience in at least one discipline area such as biopharmaceutical plant design, petrochemical plant design, plumbing/piping systems, or instrumentation/automation systems.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills. Able to effectively prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality work.

Effective skills to help you flourish:

  • Experience drawing Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), Programming, and Electrical Controls Schematics.
  • Experience drawing control panels, control system architectures, and automation systems.
  • Understanding of applicable design codes and specification requirements.
  • Strong spoken and written communications skills.
  • Effective working individually and within team environments.
  • Expertise drawing process, piping, and industrial systems.
  • Strong commitment to service excellence.
  • Ability to work under pressure and strict timelines, and to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
