This is for an open position with the FirstEnergy Service Company, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [SC00]

Delivery Driver performs duties required in connection with the safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle used to transport material and equipment between storeroom and supply points; completes work in connection with the receiving, storing, issuing, inventorying, crediting, and shipping of stores materials and supplies; effectively assists higher rated employees in the performance of such duties; instructs and effectively directs other employees in the performance of any duties for which qualified; performs work of a lower classification; and performs other work as assigned.

This position will be sited at our Connellsville, PA location.

About the Opportunity

  • Under general supervision operates all Company vehicles for the primary purpose of transporting materials and supplies interstate and intrastate.
  • Loads and unloads vehicles utilizing equipment as required.
  • Responsible for maintaining all paperwork associated with this position.
  • Performs other related and lesser skilled work as required.
  • Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License-Class A with 5 years tractor trailer experience and be able to safely operate motor vehicles. Demonstrate satisfactory knowledge as it applies to the operation of trailer trucks on public highways of Motor Vehicle Codes in states the company serves.
  • Normally, 8 hours per day, 5 days per week. Overtime as required.
  • Strength and dexterity adequate to safely perform all the duties of this classification. Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Must possess physical skills required to maneuver trailer trucks in difficult locations, both forward and backward, and be able to perform heavy physical work indoors and outdoors in all seasons.
  • Must be at least a high school graduate or possess the GED equivalency.
  • Must be particularly alert in observing hazards and avoiding accidents.
  • Must possess a good knowledge of locations and road conditions in the area.

We administer selection tests for a variety of positions. The required tests have been developed by the Edison Electric Institute (EEI), a trade association of investor-owned electric utility companies. We strongly encourage potential employees to review all information, including the sample test brochures, and to use the available practice tests before taking the actual tests. Practice tests provide sample questions and detailed discussions of the correct answers. It's important to take the practice test as you would the actual one, with similar intensity and concentration. You must have Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer.

Note: EEI website does not allow access to actual tests. Testing is held at various locations throughout our service territory based on where the job is located.
