Develop and design automation machinery for commercial use.
Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs using Solidworks for various machines
Perform testing and proof-of-principal validation of new designs when necessary.
Organize and keep hand sketches, basic machine calculations, and project notes for each assigned machine project.
Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications for manufacturing.
Collaborate and work with purchasing, vendors and contractors in sizing of commercial parts and correct assignment of make parts.
Conduct relevant research.
Help to lower costs and improve efficiency.
Manage all current and as-built BOM’s, assembly drawings, and detail drawings.
Provide support during the building and installation of the machinery.
Qualifications
BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field in industrial machinery design.
2-5 years of experience working in engineering.
Firm grasp of engineering concepts, and experience designing mechanical systems such as servo motor applications, timing belt drives, rack and pinion drives, weldments, fabrications, and manufacturing methods.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Excellent problem-solving skills: ability to apply advanced mathematical principles and statistics to solve problems.
Skilled in SolidWorks and AutoCAD
Flexible approach to work and the ability to adapt to change.
Able to work in a team environment.
Self-motivated attitude and the ability to use initiative.
