Material Planner/Buyer
Responsibilities:
  • Accountable for maintaining the integrity of MRP planning parameters and item master data for assigned materials (lead times, lot size, days of supply/safety stock and inventory targets).
  • Analyze, understand, and convert MRP messages to raw material purchase orders, releases and plans to meet production/forecast demand.
  • Demand analysis for executing MRP signals such as pull-ins, push-outs, expedites or cancellations.
  • Communicates with suppliers via phone, email, Teams, or onsite meetings to ensure on time delivery and lead time accuracy.
  • Monitors and evaluates supplier performance.
  • Generate and issue reports to internal customers advising of deviations to delivery dates and other changes to plans.
  • Provide solutions for supply issues that impact production scheduling.
  • Understands the day-to-day manufacturing planning processes through daily hands-on involvement with Customer Service, Master Scheduling and Production teams.
  • Inventory management – Understands and maintains the minimum necessary inventory for assigned raw materials, work in process, and finished goods.
  • Report on the status of inventory levels against inventory targets and goals.
  • Advise management(escalation)of critical at- risk supply issues that will adversely impact internal and external customer production schedules due to vendor constraints, inventory discrepancies, global market conditions, or other.
  • Understand the day-to-day operations of Customer Service, Planning and Operations teams through active hands-on involvement.
  • Continuous improvement of processes and methods that maintain or improve the quality of planning systems.
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPI) through daily, weekly, and monthly reporting.
  • Maintain a positive and professional work environment.
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
 


REQUIRED Qualifications & Skills
  • 3+ years, work experience in a production and/or material planning role utilizing ERP system(s). Infor Syteline experience is a plus!
  • Strong focus on internal and external customer expectations.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills working with external and internal customers.
  • Strong team player with the skill and desire to collaborate with cross functional teams.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft office suite.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • High level understanding of materials planning and inventory control concepts.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Current legal authorization to work in the U.S.

Other PREFERRED Qualifications & Skills
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree with business emphasis.
  • 5+ years, work experience in a planning role utilizing ERP system(s). Infor Syteline experience is a plus!
