We are seeking a highly organized and detail orientated outpatient scheduler to join our GI team! If you thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment and have a passion for ensureing a seamless patient experience, we want to see you apply!!

You will schedule GI procedures under general anesthesia cases and diagnostics procedures for Children's patients at Children's Surgical Services facilities. Our oupatient GI surgery scheduler works collaboratively with the team, other specialty services and the department of Surgical Services to facilitate timely and accurate scheduling of general anesthesia cases and non-anesthesia cases. Patient/Family engagement is a key priority in this position and is critical to fostering an environment which promotes trust and drives compliance. The outpatient GI surgery scheduler must be skilled at handling cases with complex social histories and work with social work to reduce barrier to care and offer assistance to families.

This position requires:

  • High School graduate or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED).

  • Two years of surgical procedure scheduling or related experience.

  • Ability to respond to both written and oral correspondence regarding scheduling changes/cancellations in a timely, accurate manner.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Previous experience with Epic preferred.

  • Interpersonal and communication skills necessary in order to interact with physicians, nurses, parents and personnel from other departments.

  • Analytical skills in order to prioritize and work independently.

  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time while performing duties.

This position will work onsite 5 days a week within the clinic building in the hospital.

Hours: Monday through Friday 7am-4pm or 8am-4:30pm.
