Overview

FUJIFILM Cellular Dynamics, Inc is recruiting for undergraduate research assistants to work at our facility in Madison, WI. This role provides an outstanding opportunity for a dedicated and responsible individual to learn, develop, and contribute to maintaining and improving lab operations, along with supporting research and development projects. And, as required, participate in cellular and molecular projects. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a track record of self-motivation, strong organizational skills, and dedication to their work. The role requires at least 10 hours per week of commitment during periods of classes with flexible scheduling, as well as expanded hours during break periods.

Essential Job Functions

    Provide lab support for scientific personnel and overall operations.
  1. Complete required laboratory and safety training to enable working in a BSL2 environment.
  2. Perform vessel coating, medium preparation, make labels and aliquot reagents and culture feeding.
  3. Stock lab consumables and participate in lab cleaning activities to support lab operations.
  4. Assist with daily lab duties with various assays with iPSC cells or differentiated cells, such as flow cytometry and immunostaining.
  5. Complete in iPSC tissue culture training to culture to include expanding and freezing iPSC cells.
  6. Participate in various ongoing projects within the assigned group(s).
  7. Other job functions as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, with relevant coursework progressing to a bachelor's degree in biologic sciences, or related field
  • Flexibility to work a variable and assigned schedule to support research and development requirements
  • Fundamental knowledge and experience in lab techniques and operations
  • Effective time management skills and ability to multi-task
  • Demonstrated and effective communication skills
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures
  • Ability to work on weekends, as required
