CLA is looking to hire a Director of Financial Systems to support CLA's internal Finance team. The Director of Financial Systems is responsible for overseeing the Financial Systems team within the Finance department. The team oversees managing the financial features of Workday (FIN & Adaptive), which includes managing accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, budgets and forecasts, and reporting systems.

About the role:

  • Team leadership and supervision: Directs team members to perform enthusiastically, innovatively, and diligently. Coordinates schedules and team workload in alignment with CLA business demands and in accordance with applicable laws and policies. Coaches, disciplines, and trains team members as may be required. Takes corrective action in a constructive manner with employees as needed. Establishes and maintains effective working relationships to promote the success of established short and long-term objectives and goals. Manages daily operations within closely-working team members to ensure productivity goals are met or exceeded. Ensures team is knowledgeable of all necessary areas of application; must strive to constantly develop team to ensure capable management succession. Builds a team and leads team member interviewing, hiring, and termination, if necessary. Ensures the team participates in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations and continued development and advancement of the team.
  • Design and Development: Manages the development and administration of Workday financial system and modules using existing and emerging technology platforms, etc. to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to identify and address financial system needs and issues. Monitors and analyzes systems to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement. Develops and maintains financial reports and dashboards to provide timely and accurate information to management and other stakeholders. Ensures the security and integrity of financial data and systems, implements appropriate controls and procedures to mitigate risks.
  • Project management: Establishes project timelines and defines, designs and delivers projects on time and on budget. Manages assignment of project work to ensure agreed upon deadlines are met.
  • Client Service: Effectively communicates with a wide range of CLA family members. Interacts with senior leaders and team members to discuss requirements, explore solutions, and demonstrate functionality.

What you will need:

  • Experience: 10 years experience required. Prior finance platform experience required, Workday experience is preferred.
  • Education: A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science, Management of Information Systems, or related disciplines, or equivalent experience is required. A Master's degree or CPA is a plus
  • Technical Competencies (required): Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Exceptional time management & prioritization skills. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities. Workday Finance experience is highly preferred.
  • Travel: This position requires <10% travel.
