We are currently seeking a Production Supervisor, Process Departments who will be responsible for the operations management of the microencapsulation and PolyIFF process departments.

We are looking for an EHS Specialist for our Beloit, WI facility.

This role represents a challenging opportunity to support EHS initiatives at our enzyme facility in Beloit, WI. As a member of the team, this role will utilize your technical background and engagement skills to work with plant teams on a variety of site environmental, health, and safety projects. The successful candidate should have a strong working knowledge of environmental, health (including Industrial Hygiene) and safety practices, a can-do attitude, strong problem-solving capability and excellent communication skills.

Job Requirements

  • Provide support for air, water, waste and other environmental regulatory and internal program requirements based on the specific needs of the site.
  • Create and maintain environmental management systems to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, site permits and corporate standards.
  • Lead environmental performance continuous improvement efforts.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and submission of all required reporting to federal, state and local agencies along with corporate reporting guidelines.
  • Lead and support preparation of permit applications.
  • Complete environmental regulation applicability determinations (i.e., permit modifications)
  • Lead or work with site(s) teams on efforts to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements, site(s) procedure development and updates, environmental risk assessments, and compliance inspections.
  • Interface with regulatory agencies, prepare required documentation, schedule any required testing and provide additional follow-up documentation as required.
  • Collaborate with other EHS resources to interpret, analyze, and provide training and/or communications on new or updated EHS standards and guidelines
  • Develop strategies for IH sampling and analytical methods for a multitude of Occupational Health programs, (i.e., Occupational Noise, Air/Toxic Monitoring, Enzyme, etc.)
  • Perform PPE analysis, makes recommendations and orders PPE and safety supplies.
  • Leading or actively contributing to the Safety Team and the plants Ergonomics Team while identifying new opportunities for employees to become engaged in safety.
  • Conduct EHS orientation training, annual EHS compliance and EHS refresher training to plant employees
  • Stay current with basic regulations (regulatory & corporate) and interacts with regulatory agencies on EHS issues
  • Prepare and submit reports to regulatory agencies as required by law under the supervision of management
  • Participating in incident and injury investigations with operational teams to successful mitigate/prevent future occurrences utilizing 5 Why and RCFA Methodologies
  • Coordination of site SDS inventory and new chemical introductions
  • Lead and participate in 1st party EHS audits and coordinate site(s) 2nd and 3rd party environmental audits.


Requirements

  • BS or higher degree in chemical or environmental engineering, environmental science, or closely related science field is required.
  • Two to five relevant years' work experience in an Environmental, Health or Safety role a plus
  • Demonstrated functional/technical expertise and moderate level of experience in multiple environmental competencies such as air, water/wastewater, and waste.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 requirements is advantageous.
  • The successful candidate will be a highly motivated, self-starter who can work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision. Additionally, the successful candidate will be one who can deal with fast changing and sometimes conflicting priorities and who possesses strong organization and planning skills.
  • Broad knowledge of environmental topics is advantageous (RCRA, SPCC, SWPPP, EPCRA 311/312/313, TSCA, and air emissions)
  • Demonstrated written and oral skills are essential. Knowledge of computer software such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint plus the ability to quickly learn the use of new and varied computer-based systems is required.
  • Familiar or experience with DCS control and DCS historian systems is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industrial hygiene general principles and monitoring
  • Some travel required (Less than 10%)
