Our IT department is looking for an Information Security Analyst to join our team! The ideal candidate will have experience consulting business partners on matters of Information Security to help the organization meet security objectives. The incumbent will also participate in and lead complex technical projects and serve as a member of the incident response team.

Essential Functions

  1. Information Security
    • Acts as an internal consultant of Information Security throughout the organization.
    • Provides management and other stakeholders with consolidated daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly reports concerning Information Security areas of responsibility and influence.
    • Maintains knowledge and understanding of fundamental activities and responsibilities of other team members' roles to assist in their absence.
    • Serves as a tiered escalation point for the Information Security technicians.
    • Assists with the vendor management (third part oversight) process as a subject matter expert.
    • Participates in internal and third-party audits and regulatory exams by completing such tasks as evidence gathering, modeling, and presentation.
  2. Design, manage and improve, process and workflows relate to industry -standard security tools.
    • Organize, report, and assist internal teams in managing vulnerabilities.
    • Triage and resolve security alerts, incidents
    • Assist in reviewing IOCs.
    • Review and assist users with suspicious communications.
    • Manage industry-leading XDR solution.
    • Explore new and creative ways to solve security threats.
    • Prioritize an automate-first approach when resolving day-to-day problems.
  3. Professional network
    • Build relationships with internal staff and business teams across the organization to ensure alignment as required.
    • Create a robust network of diverse information security and technical professionals to grow personal knowledge and abilities to support the credit union's strategic initiatives.
  4. Process Improvement
      • Maintain consistency and standardization of the environment.
      • Adhere to IT security policy, procedures, and guidelines.
      • Document procedures and processes and recommend policy updates/revisions.
      • Develop and maintain expertise with the hardware platforms and software applications supported by the IT department.
      • Work with various auditors to provide recommendations that enhance the security program.
      • Contribute to improving the quality of the service provided by IT by actively participating in meetings and providing input.
      • Work with vendors as needed.
      • Partner with team members to analyze and correct installation and support issues.
      • Alert appropriate personnel when critical IT systems malfunction.
      • Stay current on emerging technologies and trends to aid in the integration, development, testing and support of Summit Credit Union systems.

    5. Understands and is accountable for executing all job functions in a way that is consistent with all requirements of BSA, OFAC and the USA Patriot Act/Customer Identification Act (CIP). Note: Failure to comply with requirements may be subject to strong disciplinary action, up to and including termination by the credit union, as well as civil and criminal penalties.

    Job Specifications

    • 2 or more years of professional experience in information technology areas such as, incident response, forensics, analytics, and/or security operations.
    • Associate degree with a focus in information systems, security, computer science or a related technical field of study preferred.
    • Demonstrated strong technical acumen through technical certification(s) is preferred. Examples are CompTIA Security+, GIAC/SANS, or ISC2 SSCP.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of and apply the use of networking technologies such as TCP/IP, DHCP, wide area networks, routing concepts and unified communications.
    • Exhibit understanding of common network vulnerabilities and threats, while also being able to compare and contract risk related concepts.
    • Experience with operating system internals and security controls such as Linux and/or Windows.
    • Familiarity with Elastic, Splunk, Logic Monitor, and/or other SIEM and network monitoring tools preferred.
    • Professional well developed interpersonal skills essential for professional interactions with all levels of credit union staff under normal and adverse circumstances.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time and projects with resources from within and outside department.
    • Requires detailed, team oriented working style with the ability to apply critical thinking to resolve problems in new situations.
    • Understanding of active directory, network utilities, and network security systems including enterprise patching, anti-virus, IDS/IPS, content filtering, port scanners, sniffers, DLP and NAC
    • Strong communications, writing and editing skills needed to transfer information to individuals involved in systems support process
    • Ability to communicate clearly, to both technical and non-technical audiences
    • Ability to write policies and procedures; ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines
