Responsibilities include:

  • Maintenance of highly automated bioprocessing equipment and facilities to operate in the safest and most productive condition, supporting continuous improvement and reliability of equipment and building systems
  • Assists in the implementation and improvement of effective preventive maintenance programs for equipment and facilities
  • Makes improvements and suggestions to optimize maintenance program
  • Generate and maintain written procedures for maintenance tasks
  • Follows all applicable good manufacturing practices (GMP's).
  • Executes and documents planned and unplanned work via computerized maintenance management system (SAP)
  • Maintains and uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
  • Maintains and repairs facility/utility systems such as mechanical, electrical, building systems, water heater/boiler, steam, chilling system, electric power, gas, or compressed air required for operations
  • Maintenance of sanitary processing equipment, valves, piping, and instrumentation
  • Executes PMs and repairs to Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems, refrigeration, instrumentation
  • Performs elevator maintenance, painting, plumbing, carpentry, grounds keeping and mechanical repairs
  • May be required to perform tests, repair and replacement of fire alarm, fire sprinkler, smoke detector, emergency and exit sign lighting system
  • Leverages methodologies like root cause analysis to identify and resolve equipment issues
  • Predictive maintenance activities, including oil sampling and submission for external analysis, manual data collection for vibration, ultrasound, infrared or others predictive techniques, installation of predictive sensors and general maintenance of the collection system, predictive data diagnosis, and report management
  • Assists in the maintenance of parts inventory
  • Plan maintenance work with operations, contractors, and other plant staff
  • Leads and partakes in 5S activities
  • May perform other duties as required.
Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience as an industrial or military maintenance technician required; 5+ years preferred
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude, with the ability to analyze, evaluate, and solve mechanical problems
  • Strong electrical skills with the ability to interpret instrument loop diagrams, electrical single line diagrams, and perform basic electrical trouble shooting
  • Working knowledge of personnel safety programs including LOTO, fall protection, ladder safety, confined space entry, line and equipment opening, hot work, and NFPA30
  • Ability to interpret P&ID's, facility layout drawings, and equipment drawings
  • Excellent Interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Ability to work independent, in a team of peers, or in a cross functional team
  • Excellent follow through, judgment, and common sense. "Make it happen" attitude
  • Ability to work flexible schedules including an on-call schedule, evenings and weekends as needed
  • Ability to do moderate to heavy stair and ladder climbing
  • Ability to do moderate to heavy lifting (55 lbs)
  • Industrial maintenance certification desired
  • CMRT (Certified Maintenance and Reliability Technician) desired
