The Senior Systems Manager role will support the organization's office & jobsite systems with the management of our network, systems, and infrastructure, throughout our Midwest locations. Your work will put Pepper and its trade partners ahead of the curve by ensuring our assets are protected along with strategically creating business resiliency plans for disaster recovery.

Some of the tasks you will get involved with include:

  • Implement and oversee remote job site network connectivity.
  • Preserve assets by implementing disaster recovery, and back-up procedures.
  • Recommend information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes.
  • Evaluate current technology use, needs of the company, and recommend software and hardware improvements.
  • Oversee and resolve issues with on premise servers and network infrastructure.
  • Support existing cloud infrastructure and coordinate all on prem to cloud initiatives and migrations.
  • Provide second and third level technical support to the help desk as needed.
  • Prepare and deliver operational or project progress reports.
  • Implements and oversees Network, Security, Infrastructure, and expenditures budget.
  • Manage a complex AD domain ADFS and DNS environment.
  • Identify, test and configure SSO for all eligible third-party applications.
  • Manage technical projects and consultants when required.
  • Implement Microsoft cloud technologies and cloud network infrastructure.
  • Manage and support MS Exchange hybrid configuration.
  • Plan, test, and implement hardware and software upgrades, patches, and firmware.
  • Be one of the main Global Admin's in Office365 and implement conditional access and group policies.
  • Manage and secure user access and privileges.
  • Create and maintain system documentation.

Required Qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in information systems/technology, Computer Science or similar; relevant work experience in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in systems administration
  • Experience in networking, security, and cloud administration.
  • Previous knowledge in a O365 Global Admin role
  • Expert knowledge of IT best practices, policies, and regulations
  • A clear understanding of client/server technology and network architecture
  • Effective communication, including writing, speaking and active listening.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Advanced leadership and conflict management skills
  • Customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Great project management skills, including organization, planning, time management, communication, and prioritization.

Desired Skills:

  • VMware vSphere 6.x or higher
  • Firewall configuration and administration.
  • Windows and Linux Web, File and Application servers, including patch management.
  • Azure Active Directory and related features and functions
  • Microsoft SQL Server management and administration
  • Microsoft Exchange 2016 or newer management and administration
  • Backup Exec, Veeam, AvePoint, Cloud Backup systems
  • Endpoint antivirus technologies
  • NAS / SAN administration
  • Cisco switch, administration
  • Cloud Migration experience
  • Network security experience

Desired Certifications:

  • Azure Fundamentals
  • Azure Administrator
  • Azure Network Engineer
  • Windows Server Hybrid Administrator
  • Azure Solution Architect
