Job Summary:

The Outreach Program Manager will lead outreach and development efforts for the UW Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Under the direction of the Department Chair, and Chief Administrative Officer, the Outreach Program Manager will be primarily responsible for the supervision and development of departmental outreach programs The program served by this position includes all sections in the Department to meet the needs of the research, education and clinical missions of the Department. The Outreach Program Manager acting as the Department liaison will work closely with department administrators, faculty, sponsors as well as regional, state, Meriter, UWHC and UWMF leadership to develop and maintain highly visible outreach programs that achieve high-quality and measurable outcomes.

Responsibilities: Provides guidance for program planning, implementation, and evaluation, and/or supervises outreach staff. Monitors budget and appropriate funding for programming. Promotes stable and productive relationships between the university and community. Strives to expand and ensure access to programs, facilities, and educational services to diverse audiences.
  • 20% Supervises the implementation of outreach-program-focused strategic planning initiatives and objectives
  • 20% Develops and implements operating policies and procedures to promote the outreach program in alignment with the strategic plan
  • 5% Monitors the unit or program budget and approves program expenditures
  • 10% Reviews recommendations for and provides input on the design and development of new outreach programs or services
  • 10% Determines outreach program needs and the personnel resource allocation plan
  • 20% May exercise supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 FTE or equivalent employees
  • 10% Acts as the liaison between the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and other internal and external departments and organizations promoting the department's mission and programs in research, education,
  • 5% In collaboration with department faculty, development director and department administrator, provides direction for philanthropic events.

Education:

Preferred
Master's Degree
Preferred focus in health, social sciences, communication, or related field.

Qualifications:

- More than four years of experience in professional outreach or development required.
- Experience in a university setting or non-profit setting preferred to include experience in faculty development.
- Excellent communication skills required.
- Lived experience and/or professional experience working with historically marginalized communities (i.e. groups that experience discrimination and exclusion due to unequal power relationships across economic, political, social and cultural dimensions).
- Ability to work effectively and compassionately with individuals and groups from a variety of identities, cultures, backgrounds and ideologies.
- Working knowledge of women's health, health equity, and community health priorities.
- Existing rapport with local and/or statewide organizations and coalitions addressing women's reproductive health and/or social determinants of health.

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.
