1.0 FTE/40 hours per week

This position will provide one-on-one cognitive-behavioral and behavioral therapy to school age children and teens with a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Program Assistants work one-on-one to help children and teens with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in their homes and/or community settings. The Program Assistant receives a minimum of 40 hours of training to use skill building strategies and techniques to target treatment goals, as well as ongoing training and supervision. The Program Assistant works under the direct guidance of a clinical supervisor, to collect data, make observations, implement treatment plans, and carry out therapy using practices rooted in a cognitive-behavioral and behavioral framework. Treatment benefits and progress toward goals will be monitored and reviewed regularly, utilizing measurement tools.

The Program Assistant will be part of the in-home Autism Treatment Program and provide both virtual and in-home treatment per department protocols. They will complete documentation in the electronic medical record in a timely manner per department and organization protocols, and chart in a manner that is patient-oriented and professional. The Program Assistant will actively participate in case consultations with their behavior teams and be an active participant in department meetings.

JOB SPECIFIC MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent required. Completed or in progress Associates or Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or related field is preferred.
  2. Professional experience working with children is preferred.
  3. Excellent interpersonal skills required. Excellent verbal communication skills, including active listening skills, required.
  4. Commitment and proven ability to provide inclusive, equitable, respectful, and competent care to persons of diverse cultural backgrounds and identities.
  5. Knowledge of and ability to use personal computers required. Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs, and ability to learn and use electronic medical record systems such as EPIC required.
  6. Access to and ability to use a personal computer with stable access to high-speed internet and video conferencing capacity.
  7. Ability to work effectively with clinic and administration and to be a team player in a team-oriented environment required. Ability to interact productively with staff at all levels required.
  8. The ability to listen, troubleshoot and be flexible is required.
  9. Professional manner necessary to deal courteously and effectively with patients and the public required.
  10. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with GHC-SCW staff.
  11. Driver's license and means to travel to clients via a dependable mode of transportation.
  12. Ability to work with minimal supervision required. Ability to work in an office and remote environment required.
  13. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality required. Knowledge of or ability to learn HIPAA requirements.
