Job Summary:

Position provides both pre-award and post-award research administration support to faculty. The department administrative staff is a collaborative, close-knit team that supports each other to provide the best services to faculty, staff, and students. We strive to create a comfortable relaxed environment in which to help each other learn and grow in our roles while we further the missions of the department, college, and University.

Responsibilities: Manages research administration activities from proposal preparation through closeout on behalf of a unit. Reviews and approves proposal submissions, contract negotiations, project setups, compliance, and/or financial reporting. Develops and oversees implementation of operations and strategic planning to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements within a school/college/division/unit. May manage a programmatic unit and/or personnel.
  • 20% Executes research administration operational policies and procedures including financial, administrative, staffing, and compliance on behalf of a unit
  • 20% Reviews and approves programmatic transactions spanning the life-cycle of sponsored projects to ensure compliance with institutional and/or sponsor policies and procedures
  • 5% Serves as a key resource to leadership and staff in the unit as well as a liaison to partners and stakeholders
  • 20% Executes activities related to proposal submission, contract negotiation, and/or award setup on behalf of a unit
  • 15% Executes activities related to financial compliance, audit, or reporting on behalf of a unit
  • 5% Provides training to faculty, staff, and/or administrators within the unit regarding policy, procedure, and/or execution of sponsored project administration
  • 5% May have authority to submit proposals, agreements, or invoices to a sponsor on behalf of the principal investigator or project director
  • 10% Effort (Compensation) Compliance Management for the Department

Required
Bachelor's Degree

Qualifications:

REQUIRED: Financial Experience (accounting, payroll, banking, award management, or similar), Project Management Experience (event coordination, fundraising, or similar)

PREFERRED: Grant management or research administration experience, financial award management experience, effort tracking/management, experience creating financial reports.

This positions may be eligible for partial remote work following a training/probationary period.

Additional Information:

The Department of Industrial & Systems Engineering is looking for individuals with financial and/or project management experience. Experience with Microsoft Suite or Google Suite is also sought. Applicants can improve their candidacy with research/grants administration and financial reporting experience.
