The Medical Education Office within the UW School of Medicine & Public Health (UW-SMPH) is looking for a Medical Educational Coordinator to work as part of a team of 8 in coordinating a wide variety of program logistics and curricular activities across four years of the MD program. Coordinator responsibilities include working within an academic calendar to schedule students into various didactic and clinical settings, managing evaluation and absence processes, overseeing communication with local and statewide health systems as well as community-based physicians, student services staff and clinical department-based coordinators.
This position must establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty and staff, as well as staff from other health systems and clinics, therefore highly effective interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to demonstrate effective and professional problem solving are essential qualities for success.
Primary tasks include:
--Following an academic calendar, plan for didactic and clinical experiences, including orientations. Build, maintain and coordinate complex student schedules.
--Work with program directors on recruitment of faculty for didactic, assessment or clinical teaching assignments. Coordinate meetings, planning retreats and/or faculty development workshops.
--Facilitate communication with local, regional and statewide healthcare systems in the recruitment of faculty to meet student capacity requirements.
--Facilitate communication with students and faculty regarding program requirements, schedules, calendar changes, administrative processes, evaluations and assessments.
--Build and maintain learning management site (Canvas), utilizing software features such as modules, discussion forums, surveys and more.

Required:
* 1+ years of experience within a higher education setting.
* Experience in managing complex schedules, coordinating program logistics, effective communication, and successfully working with staff at satellite locations.
* Outstanding organizational and time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines
Preferred:
* Understanding of medical education and/or clinic systems
* Experience with distance learning
* Experience with educational program administration platforms and learning management systems.

This position may require some work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location. Some work may be performed remotely, at an offsite, non-campus work location.
