Job Description
The Solution Analyst I (SA I) is responsible for basic-level components of design, implementation, workflow, and integration across all related application and technology solutions for their respective solution area.

They will work with Clinical Technology Services solution teams as well as organizational stakeholders to drive positive end user experience, optimize application workflows and utilization, and contribute to organizational strategic goals. The SA I will apply agile development approaches through team self-organization by participating in daily scrum meetings to facilitate the development of new technology optimizations and solutions.

This position will also provide first-tier issue support for their solution area while continuously developing their domain knowledge in designing, implementing and maintaining solutions for their assigned application systems.

Supports the optimization and maintenance of solution-related applications

  • Contributes to the design and implementation of application and technology solutions through demonstrated basic-level proficiency in maintenance, functionality and workflows of related applications.
  • Demonstrates continuous improvement by independently engaging in learning opportunities to maintain current knowledge as well as upcoming changes in functionality and maintenance of applications in assigned solution area.
  • Provides first-tier technical support for issues in assigned solution area. Adheres to appropriate issue escalation expectations.


Supports end user workflows and utilization of assigned application systems

  • Trains end users on application and technology solutions to the extent that trainees can demonstrate basic-level proficiency in their workflow.
  • Provides ongoing support to end users to advance their understanding of current workflows and best practices when using assigned application systems.
  • Demonstrates continuous improvement towards developing proficiency in best practices related to end user workflows.


Adheres to solution-related development, implementation and support processes and expectations

  • Demonstrates effective systems analysis skills by ensuring appropriate technical requirements are determined from business needs and ensures consistent alignment with business needs throughout the development process.
  • Demonstrates effective project management skills by ensuring milestones are met in accordance with agile sprint timelines as well as the Solution Roadmap and providing progress updates to leadership.
  • Follows appropriate change management processes for new solution implementations by clearly articulating technical and workflow impacts to stakeholders and representing leadership expectations for testing strategy, issue management, implementation readiness and post-implementation monitoring.
  • Demonstrates positive customer service as evidenced by satisfactory customer satisfaction scores and minimal SLA violations.


Facilitates application development and optimization in the Solution Analyst team using agile development approaches to deliver quality products in a timely fashion

  • Promotes self-organization in the analyst team through active participation in daily scrum meetings and consistent demonstration of core scrum values.
  • Participates in identifying and monitoring key performance metrics to drive continuous process improvement.
  • Promotes efficiency by participating in identifying and removing impediments to daily task completion within the analyst team.
  • Assists in ensuring proper prioritization of projects and tasks within the Solution Analyst team.

  • Demonstrate acceptance and training of student interns in the department, as directed.

Additional Job Description:

Education/Training Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in related healthcare, computer information systems, health informatics, or related field discipline is required. Master's degree preferred.
  • This role will be expected to develop and maintain a strong understanding of the design and maintenance of assigned application solutions. Progressive training is required and will be provided.
  • Minimum of 1-year experience with software project management and process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Agile preferred.
  • Physician specialty only: Minimum of 1-year experience working closely with physician-related solutions or healthcare management preferred.
