POSITION OVERVIEW:

The primary purpose of the QC Associate Metrologist is to provide support to the Quality Control, Formulations, and Production Departments. Support will be provided by calibrating and troubleshooting basic equipment, answering questions, and contacting vendors, as needed. The QC Associate Metrologist will be responsible for initiating applicable documentation including, but not limited to, Out of Service Notification (OSN), Out of Calibration (OOC), and executing or overseeing qualifications (IQ/OQ/PQ) for new or existing equipment in the QC Laboratory. The Associate Metrologist will be responsible for maintaining equipment Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or identifying SOPs that are needed. The Associate Metrologist will assist QC Management with OOC, and any other type of, investigations related to equipment. The Associate Metrologist will assist in maintaining the tracking tool used for calibrations. The QC Associate Metrologist is expected to understand basic internal procedures and conduct basic analyses with minimal supervision after training is complete.
In addition, support is provided by ensuring the essential job functions of this position are completed as part of the daily and/or weekly schedule.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Ensures adherence to CPI Standard Operating Procedures, analytical methods, protocols, company standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Performs calibrations of basic analytical equipment
  • Performs basic equipment qualifications
  • Performs equipment troubleshooting on basic equipment
  • Assists with contacting equipment vendors
  • Assists with maintaining analytical equipment
  • Maintains a cGMP laboratory notebook, data, forms, and/or logbook
  • Performs review of laboratory notebooks, data, forms, and/or logbooks
  • Assists in maintaining a clean, organized QC laboratory
  • Assists with OOC, and other, laboratory investigations
  • Lifts/carries objects weighing up to 55 lb.
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field
  • Experience with the use and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment desirable.
  • Possesses good time management skills to complete assignments/projects in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, co-workers, and/or clients.
