A Dispatcher at Badger Bus is the individual on the Operation team who gets to interact the most with other employees, parents, and schools, visitors, and vendors - all of whom respond much more positively with effective communication. The Dispatcher may assist with the issuing of work assignments, dispatching duties, and supporting our drivers and attendants - all while coordinating efforts with others. It's logistics and people - an important job in the overall scheme of things!

A vital member of the Badger Bus Operations team, a Dispatcher applies knowledge, skills, and abilities in nearly all aspects of the terminal's operations, and administrative functions to help coordinate transportation activities to ensure our school bus and van fleets make it to their destinations in a safe and timely manner.

Ideal candidates for the Dispatching position(s) are well-versed in and have a good working knowledge of the general transportation industry and DOT standards. They have demonstrated experience in leadership, problem-solving & resolution skills, and are motivated daily by challenges and making improvements.

Located in Madison, Wisconsin

The Dispatcher position is full-time - and it's available now!

The successful candidate can expect 45-50 hours average per week in this paid-hourly-position.
 Working hours vary and are typically between the hours of 6:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday during the school year.

Requirements:

  • Valid Regular Driver's License, with the ability and willingness to obtain a CDL 
    • Company training is available to non-CDL licensed employees
    • Full-time employees assist with filling vacant driving positions as necessary
  • Acceptable Pre-Employment Drug Screen Results. Acceptable Good Driving Record
  • Acceptable Criminal Background Check Results
  • Ability to work proficiently with standard business and transportation software packages
  • Good time management skills.
  • Ability to multitask.

Well-qualified applicant candidates would have a background in coordinating activities of others in multiple disciplines with minimal supervisory input needed. Use of transportation software is a plus, as would be a transportation or related employment background.
