Position Overview:
The primary purpose of the QC Laboratory Technician- Level 1 is to provide support to the Quality Control Department which includes Analytical Chemists, Scientists, Supervisors, Managers, and the Director of QC. This support is provided by ensuring the essential job functions of this position are completed as part of the daily and/or weekly schedule.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Ensures adherence to CPI Standard Operating Procedures, analytical methods, protocols, company standards, and applicable regulations.
  • Obtains purified water for the laboratory and maintains the purified water tanks as needed.
  • Assists chemists and/or scientists with solution preparation, glassware cleaning, and/or any other tasks necessary.
  • Performs basic testing within team as assigned by supervisor.
  • Performs solution preparation.
  • Performs daily temperature checks on incubators, refrigerators, and freezers as applicable.
  • Assists in the entry, organization, and disposal of the tote/retain sample program.
  • Assists with ordering, check-in and disposal of laboratory reagents and consumables.
  • Maintains a cGMP laboratory notebook, data, forms, and/or logbook.
  • Communicates with Quality Control and Quality Assurance departments during applicable investigations.
  • Assists in maintaining a clean, organized, well stocked QC laboratory.
  • Lifts/carries objects weighing up to 55 lbs.
  • Follows all CPI cGMP practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Follows all CPI safety practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education/Skills/Knowledge Required:
  • Associates degree in chemistry, microbiology, or other related field OR High school diploma with applicable work experience.
  • Possesses good organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
