REPORTS TO: Welding/Assembly Prep Team Coordinator
POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for performing setup on all welding components that range from similar to dissimilar metals and alloys requiring a high degree of skill and welding technique or involving a considerable number of parts and/or smaller more complicated weldments where alignment, dimensions and weld quality must conform to strict quality standards.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accuracy with alignment, dimensions, materials, number of components, correct corresponding machine order and general inspection requirements.
Setup weldments per blueprint specifications.
Mig weld to blueprint specifications.
Tig, Arc, Stud weld and utilization of a torch.
Properly setup welding machines to obtain proper welding penetration.
Clean welds to check for imperfections.
Ensure proper finish squareness.
Performance of cycle counts as prescribed by Production and Inventory Control.
Interpretation of work orders, blueprints and bills of material.
Other duties and responsibilities as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associates Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of a degree.
One to three year of welding experience in a manufacturing environment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Previous blueprint reading experience required.
Knowledge of welding gases.
Ability to read a ruler and tape measure.
Knowledge of numbers and dimensions.
Proficient knowledge of weld symbols.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
There are three different shifts and they all begin at 5:30am. Should be ok with OT.
Monday-Thursday 10 hour days
Tuesday- Friday 10 hour days
Monday-Friday 8 hour days
