We are looking for a Senior DOCSIS Engineer to join our Technology Integration team of individuals dedicated to evaluating, testing, and integrating new technology to the TDS network. They will be primarily focused on DOCSIS/video platforms and solutions that are part of our family of products.
The DOCSIS Engineer works with significant autonomy and independence They are responsible for systems design, development, implementation, testing, and problem resolution. The scope of work typically includes major system projects that support company-wide business operations. As an experienced systems engineer and an experienced technical leader the position receives periodic mentoring, feedback, and supervision by management.
Will be working in a lab environment and systems may include servers (physical and virtual), operating systems, mass storage, commercial packaged software, or open-source software. Systems may be hosted at a TDS owned facility, a third party, or split across multiple facilities.

Experience with DOCSIS 3.0 and 3.1 networks is required
Experience with CMTS platforms such as Arris/CommScope, Cisco and Casa.
Working understanding of HFC architecture including RF performance, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Knowledge in cable CPE operation, maintenance, troubleshooting and registration process (template creation, firmware upgrades, etc.)
Knowledge in RF video delivery
Experience with QoS over DOCSIS (Service flows, UGS, etc.) is a plus
Experience of DOCSIS network security practices such as BPI+ is a plus
Knowledge of VOIP protocols such as NCS and SIP
Experience with IP network routing and switching
Knowledge of project management methodologies, practices, and tools.
Knowledge of system testing practices and tools.
Knowledge of problem-solving techniques and tools.
Ability to travel as needed for company business and professional development.
Ability to work nights and weekends as needed for system implementations and resolving system problems.
