Job Description

SUMMARY:

Leads a team of 5 or less electrical engineers & technicians responsible for engineering design, development, test, and release of hardware solutions for Accuray products. Expected to provide guidance and mentorship, manage performance, select, and develop employees. This position also provides technical leadership to support the larger EE team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads and mentors a team of engineers & technicians working on the electronic control system hardware of the Radixact and CyberKnife Delivery System.

  • Consults with management and engineers to determine appropriate work scope for technician support tasks.

  • Provides resource capacity management planning and actuals to program management.

  • Solicits and provides meaningful feedback with the team to grow strengths and capabilities.

  • Manages budgetary needs and participate in the budget process.

  • Provides technical leadership in the form of electrical engineering knowledge to help support the larger electrical engineering team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

a. Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.

  • 5 years of experience in hardware development and at least 1 year demonstrated successful engineering team management.

  • Experience working with electronic schematics and familiarity working with schematic capture programs (such as OrCAD, Altium, etc).

  • Excellent communicator on both a technical level with the engineers and a project level with stakeholders and executives.

  • Demonstrated understanding of development processes and an interest in driving successful projects through process improvement.

  • Willingness to perform a broad range of tasks in order to ensure the success of the development team.

  • Comfort working alongside several remote teams around the world to solve issues and deliver value to our products.

  • Ability to mentor early career hardware technicians, as well as to collaborate with engineers on the team.

b. Preferred or Desired:

  • Familiarity with supporting project management, providing estimates and budgeting.

  • Experience engineering hardware in a regulated industry.

  • Hands-on experience with electronic test equipment (oscilloscope, DMMs, etc).

  • Ability to problem solve electronic board issues and provide recommendations.
