Position Summary:

TASC has a long history of bringing game-changing solutions to the benefits field, and as a member of the Business Technology team, you will play an integral role in the creating, supporting, maintaining and improving operational processes and procedures to TASC's applications development and infrastructure to ensure quality software processes and a quality end-user experience.

This is a full-time, exempt position with core hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm CST. The position reports to our Manager of Service Delivery and is fully remote.

Qualified candidate will possess:

  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related
  • 2-3+ years of experience in a software development, DevOps, or systems administrator role
  • Experience with Amazon Web Service like EC2, S3, RDS, VPC required
  • Experience with automation of processes using scripting like python/bash and tools like Jenkins/UC4/Puppet/Chef/Ansible etc
  • Experience as a System Administrator / DevOps Engineer preferred
  • Experience with Nodejs, NPM, Java, Nginx, Jenkins, Docker, SQL preferred
  • AWS Certifications and/or Security, CISSAP is a bonus

Positional Responsibilities:

  • Installation, configuration, support server installations on physical and virtual environments
  • Support, maintain, improve application development CI/CD pipeline processes
  • Support all teams (development, security, infrastructure) with their needs as it pertains to the applications within all environments.
  • Building, upgrading and patching of systems within the environment
  • Supporting and maintaining operational processes and procedures and improving them as needed.
  • Build automation, tools and processes to support the enterprise application environment
  • Contribute to the creation of system support documentation
  • Use monitoring tools to help find problems, resolve and/or escalate to other teams and ensure that we exceed our SLAs
  • Operate the platform within our security and privacy guidelines
  • Monitor and operate within our performance, reliability, security and privacy standards
  • Install, administer and upgrade commercial and proprietary software
  • Provide support to users regarding escalations and software
  • Assist in onboarding and training new members as needed

Positional Competencies:

  • Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration with strong command line experience
  • Familiarity with Windows Server Administration
  • Skills in Docker, container based applications and service discovery
  • Strong Experience with Amazon Web Services and understanding of the basic service offerings
  • Ability to understand a wide variety of object oriented coding languages
  • Ability to debug web applications using browser inspector
  • Skills in application clustering and load balancing concepts and technologies (AWS ELB, F5)
  • Strong knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc)
  • General knowledge of database technologies SQL Server, MySQL, MariaDB, NoSQL and the ability write SQL queries.
  • Ability to follow a well-documented and defined process, as well as the ability to see areas where processes can be improved.
  • Ability to listen, learn and take direction.
  • Strong Communication Skills both verbal and written
