We find business owners generally allocate too much time to doing the technical work or on daily management tasks rather than understanding the numbers and improving business processes. It is very common for a business owner to spend between 60 and 80 hours per week working in the business rather than on the business. Yet after all this investment in time and effort, the return is often not adequate. It’s no small wonder why over 80% of small businesses that are created today will be out of business in 5 years. And those businesses that do make it past the 5 year point very often continue to struggle for years. None of this is necessary. Minor changes in behavior will make the difference between extreme success, average success or failure. If only these business owners knew how to run their business just a little better. What should they be doing? Which reports should they be looking at? What behavior needs to change? One of our most important goals is to provide the business owner with a process improvement system.
