Job Description

Scientific Protein Laboratories LLC (SPL) is a biopharmaceutical leader in the development and manufacturing of heparin, pancreatin, heparin derivatives, naturally derived pharmaceuticals, and recombinant proteins from microbial fermentation. We have an immediate opening in Waunakee, WI (Madison area) for a QC Lab Assistant.

Under general supervision, the QC Lab Assistant will be responsible for providing laboratory support to individuals responsible for testing of API's (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients) in the Quality Control Laboratory. The individual will: wash laboratory glassware, maintain chemical inventory, see to the general cleanliness and organization of the lab, file and review laboratory raw data. The work is performed under the cGMP/FDA (Current Good Manufacturing Practice and Food and Drug Administration).
 

Responsibilities
 

  • Laboratory Support: Clean and store glassware; organize cabinets, drawers, bench tops and hoods; maintain the overall appearance of the laboratory on a daily basis, maintain inventory levels of routine laboratory consumables and chemicals, and log chemicals into database as needed; perform daily balance verifications and perform other duties as assigned.

  • Administration: Attend meetings and record and distribute meeting minutes; change out SOPs and forms as needed; perform other duties as assigned.

  • Clerical: Organize and scan QC raw data worksheets; route, copy letters, memos, etc. and perform other duties as assigned.

 
Requirements

  • The position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent education level

  • 6-12 months of previous experience performing laboratory functions.  Also administrative/clerical experience is required.

  • Work environment is a typical laboratory environment.  PPE and safety glasses are required.
