With the accelerating growth of the internet of things, an exciting opportunity exists for a skilled and experienced Software Developer. This position is based at our Madison office in Wisconsin and will be an important part of our Connected Hardware Division based in Perth, Western Australia and will provide advanced technical support for the USA region.
 
Applicants must have two or more years of experience in writing, testing and deploying application software implemented using HTML, PHP, CSS, JavaScript and various database languages, preferably within MVC frameworks. Experience in configuring and deploying Linux based cloud applications, such as AWS, is preferred. You will represent the company in technical discussions and demonstrations and clarify application customizations. Strong interpersonal and communications skills are required, as is the ability to work with a diverse range of people across cultures and countries.
 
Knowledge and experience in other software development languages including C/C++/Objective-C and/or embedded controllers and Java is desirable as is experience in Windows, Linux, OS-X, iOS and Android platforms. Ideally you will have a degree/diploma in Computer Science, Applied Computing or related Engineering field. Experience with building and/or testing electronics hardware would be viewed favorably. Some international travel to our home office in Perth, Australia will be required.
 
You should be self-motivated and able to work autonomously but also in a team environment, be open to learning, creative, flexible and energetic.
 
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
 
  • Writing, testing and deploying application software,
  • Testing embedded software applications,
  • Preparation and documentation of application specifications, test procedures and results,
  • Preparation, execution and reporting of project work plans, milestones and deliverables.
  • Representing the company at customer demonstrations and in technical discussions
