POSITION OVERVIEW
:

The Technical Writer will create technical documentation as it pertains to departmental function, software development, and validation efforts. This position will act as a liaison between functional and technical resources to support the development of computer system functionality, upgrades, system modifications and day-to-day problem analysis.  

Additionally, the Technical Writer will provide computer system technical and functional support, lead project coordination, and contribute to improvements and enhancements as it relates to business processes.  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Develops and documents SOP’s as needed.
  • Creates supporting documentation for the software development process.
  • Works with department functional experts to provide queries, problem resolution, and other technical support as needed.
  • Develops reports using SSRS and other reporting tools.
  • Works with development staff to integrate systems as business needs dictate.
  • Assists in everyday functions of the IT Department.
  • Other Duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
  • Minimum of Associates Degree in Business Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or related, or equivalent work related experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, collaboration, & customer focus skills.
  • Strong conceptual, analytical and problem solving ability.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Ability to write SQL Queries and design reports using SSRS desired.
  • ERP experience preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong Desire to Learn.
  • Knowledge of Software Development Process.
  • Knowledge of Software Validation preferred.
