Job Description
SPL is a growing manufacturer of naturally-derived pharmaceuticals with career growth opportunities in all areas of the organization. SPL has an immediate opening for Supervisor, R&D Analytical. 
 
The position is responsible for supervising the R&D Chemist staff in support of the Specialty Products business, commercial operations, and development of new products. 
 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Manage daily analytical operations including all analytical testing in support of both external and internal projects, routine testing and stability testing (HPLC, SDS-PAGS, Western blot, ELISA, UV-VIS, Mass Spec, TOC, NMR, AGE, Bradford, enzyme activity, endotoxin LAL assay, potency, porosity)
  • Write, review and approve protocols (cleaning validation, method validation and stability etc.), deviations, SOPs, CAPAs, LIRs and change controls;
  • Participate in method development, method transfer and method validation for all R&D internal products and CDMO products.
  • Participate in weekly conference calls with clients and corresponding communications as necessary
  • Assist to write, review and approve all development and suitability reports as necessary
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education:
 
  • MS degree in chemistry, biochemistry or related field with +3 years related industrial experience is required
  • PhD degree in chemistry, biochemistry or related field is required.  Related industrial experience is preferred.
 
Experience
 
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing and/or research setting with knowledge in protein chemistry techniques such as Mass spec, HPLC and NMR is highly desirable.
  • Must have at least one year supervisory experience.
  • Computer proficiency is required as is strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and strong verbal and written communication skills are critical for project success.
  • Good organizational skills are essential as is the ability to work independently and meet project deadlines.
