POSITION OVERVIEW:


The primary purpose of a QC Intern is to provide support to the Quality Control Department.  The QC Intern is responsible for filing a variety of documents for QC as well as completing organizational projects as assigned.

In addition, the QC Intern assists in solution preparation, cleaning of laboratory glassware or any QC instruments as assigned and completes basic testing on samples as assigned.  The QC Intern is expected to maintain overall cGMP compliance when working within the QC laboratory.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Performs testing on samples following both internal procedures as well as following the applicable compendia.
  • Cleans laboratory glassware and maintains the QC dishwashers. Replenishes storage locations as needed.
  • Obtains purified water for the laboratory and maintains the purified water tanks as needed.
  • Properly disposes of laboratory and HPLC solvent waste, expired reagents and solutions, and other waste.
  • Ensures laboratory work areas and hoods are neat and clean.
  • Assists Chemists as it pertains to cleaning glassware.
  • Maintains a cGMP laboratory notebook and forms.
  • Performs administrative duties, including but not limited to filing, organizing, scanning.
  • Follows all CPI cGMP practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Follows all CPI safety practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Current student working towards completion of Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related science field required. 
  • Experience with the use and troubleshooting of laboratory instruments desirable.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with team members, co-workers, and/or clients.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Access).
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 15 lbs. on a daily basis and up to 55 lbs. occasionally.
