Job Description

PARA-TRANSIT MANAGER 

Are you a morning person? Are you a positive person?  Do you have a passion to help others with special needs? If your responses are YES, we may have the ideal career for you. Badger Bus Lines is looking for an experienced Full-time Manager for our Para-Transit division.

Our Madison-based company is almost 100 years old. We’re having rapid growth.

She/he is in charge of adult van transportation. We drove hundreds of customers nearly a million miles last year - all within Dane County! 

She/he must coach, direct, evaluate and coordinate drivers to pick up and deliver our customers in a safe and timely manner. She/he directs and assigns duties and monitors safety programs, following all DOT regulations. 

This FULL-TIME position is available now for the right candidate. They can expect 50-55 hours a week between 5 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicates effectively (verbal and written) with coworkers and outside agencies.
  • Onsite supervision of all drivers, and office staff
  • Manages terminal para-transit dispatch.
  • Analyzes staff needs, assists HR department with hiring.
  • Works with Federal, State and Local agencies in a professional manner.
  • Monitor and coach team members on policies and procedures, safety, and regulations.
  • Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer concerns.
  • Identifies risks and actions to improve performance.
  • Assist in employee training and safety.

Requirements/Preferred Skills:

  • Positive team player style
  • 1-3 years related or equivalent management experience
  • Transportation Management, Dispatching and Safety preferred
  • Valid Driver's License, with the ability to obtain a CDL (company paid program)
  • Availability to assist driving when needed
  • Excellent driving behavior
  • Acceptable Pre-Employment Drug Screening (company paid)
  • Acceptable physical health/medical check  (company paid)
  • Acceptable Criminal Background Check  (company paid)
  • Ability to work proficiently with standard business and transportation software packages
  • Good time management skills
  • Ability to multitask
