POSITION OVERVIEW
We have an opening for a Technology Support Specialist in our Information Systems program! The Technology Support Specialist (TS), is responsible for providing professional technical services and end-user support on a wide array of systems and software applications via telephone, electronic, and in-person contact. Perform a range of IT support tasks using strong customer service, troubleshooting, and documentation skills. This position requires the ability to work with users and assist them in use of technology.

FOLLOWING IS ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The Technology Support Specialist reports directly to the MIS Assistant Manager with overall program supervision provided by the Director.
QUALIFICATIONS
ESSENTIALS
  • Two years experience providing end-user computer support.
  • Strong work ethic, professional, organized, and flexible; initiative to solve issues through self-directed research and troubleshooting.
  • Excellent organizational skills; ability to prioritize, schedule, and accurately track multiple tasks.
  • Ability to understand, interact with and provide training for users with a wide variation of computer skills.
  • Ability to solve problems and complete goals within allotted times.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and software, particularly macOS.
  • Good communication skills including the ability to listen and assess issues.
  • Ability to learn new computer software and apply that knowledge in a variety of situations.
  • Ability to maintain the highest confidentiality and work with sensitive records.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license, a favorable driving record, adequate insurance (per WI law) and access to a vehicle. 
PREFERRED
  • Knowledge of computer network principles and methods
  • Familiarity with A/V equipment for conference room use
  • Ability to develop training materials to meet the needs of computer users
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Diagnosing and resolving end-user technical issues pertaining to user account creation, management, and general computer use.
  2. Setting up, configuring, and maintaining computers and peripherals.
  3. Documentation including hardware/software inventory records, support information, etc.
  4. Remain current on available technologies that may provide value.
  5. Proactively evaluate current and new technologies presenting ideas for improvement to the MIS Assistant Manager.
  6. Identify areas where additional training or communication is needed to improve utilization and reduce friction for users.
  7. Identify and remove impediments to reduce time required to accomplish clinical, operational, and documentation tasks.
  8. Promote the development and implementation of culturally sensitive services.
  9. Other duties as required.
