“Coordinating” is more than just a part of the title. You’ll be central and essential to everyday operations. You’ll be involved with effectively communicating with; co-workers - drivers, attendants, support staff; external customers such as parents, school admin & staff, while developing business techniques to enhance safety and continue meeting DOT requirements and objectives.
This position requires high energy, and often, the ability to think and react quickly in a fast-paced transportation environment. While a background in transportation, dispatching, or related may be a plus, many other jobs have strongly relatable skillsets.
POSITION SUMMARY:
A Transportation Coordinator has multiple responsibilities such as; daily set-up of routing, monitoring driver route check-in & check-out; communicate with Terminal Manager with concerns or changes, ensures that the assigned bus and driver are appropriate according to school routes, and other services to school districts and other customers. Drives school bus routes/charters or other company vehicles as needed* This is an hourly position with OT pay planned for because we plan for 45-50 hour weeks when school is in operation.
The tools of the trade are a PC with typically web-based programs, a phone, and a two-way radio. You’ll use these and the great customer service habits you bring with you along with the skills you’ll be able to learn and apply to help develop and maintain positive working relationships with people. “People” includes internal customers such as co-workers and external customers such as school administrators and parents. Advises drivers and attendants on appropriate behavior and following procedures in dealing with parents, school officials, and students.
Accuracy and precision are necessary. Coordination of driver route and charter operations, answering the phone and assisting callers as needed, organizing, and providing correct information. Documenting and distributing information related to payroll, dispatch, routing, other business activities.
The Transportation Coordinator cooperatively works with other staff in achieving company goals and objectives. They help foster a teamwork environment that focuses their energy and creativity to best provide great customer service in the best possible manner. Demonstrate professionalism in attitude daily. Maintain that positive attitude and takes a proactive stand toward supporting and meeting company goals. Take the initiative to carry out and create/propose new ideas for improvements. Maintain the confidentiality of employee and company matters.

*To be considered for this position, a candidate has or is willing to obtain and maintains a CDL with an S & P endorsement. All of our FT positions drive transportation routes & other assignments as needed.
