We are looking for a Terminal (Transportation) Manager to join our team here at Badger Bus Lines.

The Transportation/Terminal Manager is responsible for all aspects of the terminal's transportation operations and administrative functions. He/she will supervise, direct and coordinate activities, such as making sure that our school buses make it to their destinations in a safe and timely manner, direct and assign duties to employees, investigate and respond to customer inquiries. The Transportation/Terminal Manager will monitor and implement the transportation safety programs and all areas relating to school bus DOT regulations while ensuring they continue to surpass expectations.


The ideal candidate will be well-versed in transportation and will be a motivated individual with experience in leadership, knowledgeable in DOT standards with the ability to identify problem areas and recommend sound improvements. He/she must have the ability to effectively communicate with internal staff, customers, and transportation professionals in developing techniques to enhance safety and meet DOT safety goals and objectives while providing exceptional customer service. 

LOCATED IN MADISON, WISCONSIN
This FULL-TIME position is available and it's an immediate opportunity for the right candidate!
The right candidate can expect 50-55 hours per week on average.  This position works in a fast-paced environment.
 
Operating Hours: Overall working hours (shifts) are typically between the hours of 6:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday-Friday.

Responsibilities:
  • Onsite supervision of all drivers, mechanics, and assigned office staff
  • Assists HR and other office staff planning, developing and implementing organizational policies and goals.
  • Oversees terminal dispatching as assigned.
  • Direct activities related to dispatching, routing and tracking school bus transportation.
  • Work directly with District Administration to ensure the quality of service standards are met and exceeded.
  • Analyzes department headcounts and requests to identify areas of need for manpower.
  • Oversees all operations and maintains compliance for all activities at the Assigned Terminal.
  • Interfaces with the Federal, State and Local agencies in a professional and effective manner.
  • Monitor operations to ensure that staff members comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, and government regulations.
  • Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer complaints.
  • Responds to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Communicates effectively (verbal and written) with all levels of the organization, governmental officials and outside agencies.
  • Assists in efforts to identify risks and recommends appropriate actions to improve performance.
  • Serve as a contact person for 80-90 school bus drivers and bus aides within assigned programs.
  • The majority of work is conducted at the assigned terminal; however, occasional travel may be required to assist with bus operations.
  • Assist in employee training and safety sessions as required.
Requirements:
1-3 years related or equivalent training, transportation/DOT experience
Transportation/Terminal Management, Strong Dispatching, and Safety preferred  
Positive attitude and desire to work as a team player
Acceptable Pre-Employment Drug Screen Results
Valid Driver's License, with the ability to obtain a CDL (company-paid program)
Availability to assist in driving when needed
Good Driving Record
Acceptable Criminal Background Check Results
Ability to work proficiently with standard business and transportation software packages
Good time management skills
Ability to multitask
High School/GED Required  
Associate Degree Acceptable 
Bachelor Degree Preferred
